The spectral shift of J‐bands under high pressure up to 60 kbar has been investigated for J‐aggregates of different cyanine dyes.Under conditions where no J‐band can be observed at normal pressure, J‐aggregates are formed at higher pressure. A red shift of absorption upon increasing pressure was found with a linear dependence of line position on pressure.
Work by Smeller et al. has shown that although high pressures (12 kbar) denature myoglobin, aggregates of the unfolded protein do not form until pressure is released. They suggest that intermediate pressures ( ca. 3 kbar) populate a folding intermediate that is aggregation prone under atmospheric conditions, but prevented from aggregating by pressure.
Micromechanics of high pressure compaction in granular quartz aggregates Suzanne J.T. Hangx,1 Nicolas Brantut2 Abstract. The mechanical behaviour of porous sandstones is generally modelled us-ing concepts from granular mechanics, often overlooking the e
DIVISION - AGGREGATES HIGH LIGHTS OPTIONAL HPT (High Pressure Technology): Our machi-nes work at higher pressure than competitors'. Higher pressure means better components to sustain it, but it means better results and shor-ter cycles especially.

We investigate the rheological behavior of -phase aggregates at high pressure and high temperature. Using synchrotron X-ray radiation as the probing tool, we are able to quantify the stress state of individual phases within the aggregates. This method provides fundamental information in interpreting the behavior of two phase/ -phase mixtures, which contribute to our understanding of ...
